What Is G3 Filter Media?
G3 filter media is a synthetic non-woven roll-stock material rated to G3 classification under EN779 — one grade coarser than the G4 panel filters used in commercial HVAC air handling units. G3 media provides average arrestance of ≥80% for coarse airborne particulate: large dust particles, textile fibres, and general airborne debris.
Unlike finished panel filters — which are supplied as rigid, framed units in standard AHU dimensions — G3 roll-stock media is supplied as a continuous roll. Contractors, fabricators, and OEM manufacturers cut it to the dimensions their specific application requires.
G3 media is typically used where a standard panel filter size is not available, where a custom frame is being built, or where the application calls for a large-area intake pre-filter that would be uneconomical to supply as a series of small framed panels.
